New Years Resolutions? None for me, BooBoo!

I don’t know about ya’ll, but at the ripe old age of 42, I have decided to give up New Years Resolutions!! I have decided that they are just ONE more way to beat up on oneself.

If I REALLY want to go on a diet, why do I have profess it on New Years Eve to my family and friends, and then days later the berating begins…by both family and friends and myself. I just don’t think I need that kind of pressure in my life right now.

So, I have resolved to be kinder to myself this year, which means NO RESOLUTIONS! If I want to do something badly enough this year, I will take Nike’s advice and JUST DO IT!!

How about ya’ll?

Hi Dee Dee. I gave up new year resolutions myself. I totally agree, it’s an unnecessary pressure. I think telling everyone what our resolutions are is just a way to make us look good, but often sets us up for a fall.

I like your outlook! Just do it!

AMEN, SISTA!! the only resolution i want to keep is to be happy and to live life each day to the fullest i can and to try and enjoy every breath i take!! resolution just make you crazy! and you might stick to them for the first month and then it’s out the window…we don’t nee the added stress to our daily lives!
take care!

here here! I think it is good to reaccess things at year end and make new or change existing plans.butI am not a resolution peron…although I try to support those who are–for some people it is a positive thing…just not me.

Hi Denise!
I think you are right…some need that “monkey” on their back to stay on the straight and narrow. I say more power to 'em. I will cheer you on all the way!

It’s just not my cup of tea (cream and Splenda, please)
