AM ON PUMP BUT AM NOT FULLY CONTROLED YET…
Just give it some time. It takes a little while to get your body used to pumping.
thanks for the replay…
I dont know they tought me how to carbohydrate count but I dont know is it me or its the whole procedure bcoz its new on me?
Carb counting is a cross between simple math (read label on nutrition guide and tell pump this many carbs equals this much insulin) and exhaustive combinations and permutations of activity in last 2 hours, activity in the next 2-4 hours, stress level, “phase of the moon”, day of the week, and on and on. – little humor there – My Endo’s CDE told me it takes time and patience to figure basal insulin. Some call it a SWAG! I am on 9 different rates around a 24 hour day. I use one schedule but change the rate by going +/- 10 or 20% for short periods of time (up to 4 hours) for sick days, extra activity, etc.
It is not as much your body but your brain paying attention and then setting your pump with input from your endo.
Yeah it’s a huge learning curve and if you haven’t had that stuff down before going on a pump it will even be harder. Maybe you can change your diet for a little while to things that are simple and don’t require complex carbs and stick to label things only. Good luck and give it time.
