I will soon be going on Medicare. I have been an Omnipod user since May 2008 and was disappointed to learn from various sources including Insulet that the Omnipod is NOT covered by Medicare. So I'm looking into switching pumps. My current thinking, without a lot of research, is the OneTouch Ping. I'd like to hear from others who may have gone through this process (Omnipod users switching to a "tubed" pump.) In particular when did you make the switch (before of after Medicare)? What pump did you switch to? What type of Medicare supplemental or Advantage plan did you sign up for and was it an easy transition to the new pump?
