On Restaurant Portions: "More Room for Dessert?"

I just started this goofy system I have. I order from the menu and simultaneously ask for a “to go” box. Before I start eating I put half of everything into the togo box.

I eat the rest, and end up with a clean plate, which is very satisfying.

I have to get better at remembering to take the togo box out of the car when I get home.

If you check the carbs of many restaurant food choices, it’s healthier to order a hamburger than a salad. This may not include Johnny Rocket’s, however, the home of a “truly exceptional hamburger” of which I looked at the carb count in Calorie King and nearly died of a heart attack after seeing the four-digit number. Haven’t eaten it since. It was awfully good when I was naive, though.
