One Sentence Story

The magician/blacksmith was concerned, wondering whether Crystal’s horses went barefoot (as indeed they did) and whether she might not find his dual career to be difficult to accept.

The gypsy musicians were already playing wild swirling music and by the firelight she could see nearly as well as daytime.

And then she saw him, she fell in love instantly.

She wondered whether he had the same feelings towards her and was awaiting his reaction

But he didn’t see her reaction because he was lost in thoughts about how to get Crystal to marry him.

He thought he might show off his dancing skills, or maybe how well he could play the guitar.

He took up the guitar but did not play since his mind was fully occupied with thoughts how to attract crystal

So he threw himself into the lake and collided with two pelicans who had been fishing happily.

The outcome was something never heard of before; the pelicans became violent.

They headed straight towards him and poked him with their beaks angrily.

His only resource was to hide under a nearby upturned canoe, and wait for night to come.

He shivered uncomfortably until he dried off, then he fell asleep and dreamed about Crystal.

The hammering and banging is what brought him out of a fitful sleep.

He crawled out from under a bush, covered in leaves and twigs and smelling of lake water, to see what was being built.

Only to come face to face with a den of beavers mending a broken dam.

These weren’t ordinary beavers, either.

They could talk!

He had heard of a similar situation before whereby certain animals would make their thoughts be known to humans, but this beaver’s mouth was actually enunciating!

“How, what, when, why, where”, blurted Bjorn.
