Today is a much better day today, thanks!
Very informative article, Kelly. Thanks for sharing it!
You are welcome Gerry - someone else here originally posted it, but I can’t remember who it was to give them credit.
Yes, this is one of the joys of overnight hypos. For those who haven’t had the joy of suffering one it’s like a really really bad hangover (and probably for the same reason - dangerously low blood sugar.) I’ve only had one occasion when my medium term (next day) symptoms approached yours though; I had permanent memory loss (about 3 days) and maybe half a date of cognitive problems. Still, it’s difficult to tell from inside the shell: my wife looked at your symptoms and immediately said, “yes”, that’s just like you; she’s much more sensitive to physological changes in me than I am.
For many years I’ve run with above ideal blood sugar to avoid these; they really are distressing and horrible to experience.
To make it worse the rebound effect and the high blood sugars have similar effects. Above 400 mg/dl I feel weak, sick and am very cranky.
