my doctor was surprised I could still get sof sensors,so I guess they are being phased out and replaced with the enlites.
In Canada, the transmitter is $800 Cdn, the receiver $700 Cdn, and the sensors are $340 Cdn for a 4-pack. Shipping is free on orders over $400, extra $10 under $400.
I don't know if you are also considering switching your pump to a Vibe. If you do so you will not need the receiver. I don't know about Canadian prices, but in the UK, the sensors and transmitter are significantly cheaper if you purchase them from Animas, rather than from Advance Therapeutics (who are Dexcom's UK representative).
Animas' UK prices for the sensors are £186 for 4, almost identical to the Canadian prices posted by Brian J below. However, the cost of the transmitter seems rather high. UK prices are £330 ( = Cdn$600, and you can get a further discount by buying a starter kit with a transmitter and 4 sensors).
Unlike the MM transmitter, the Dexmitter is not rechargeable. Battery life is guaranteed for 6 months: my current one is still working well at 9 months and I have been told they last up to a year. With a range of up to 6 metres you also avoid all the lost sensor problems common with the MM system.
When comparing costs, remember that the Dexcom sensors may be more expensive, but they will work reliably for about twice as long as the Sof Sensors.
