Hello everyone,
I have recently changed insurance which has made everything that I get related to DM management be re-evaluated.
My insurer, Harvard Pilgrim, has decided to prefer Abbott meters and strips but I use and Animas pump and want to keep my connected technology with the One-Touch meter.
One-Touch is now considered a "prior authorization" with my insurer and when I paid for my 30 supply, I noticed that my cost was 2.5x higher than the insurance preferred strips.
I have gone through the effort of having my endo sign and send a letter for prior auth and that went through fine but I am wondering if I can do anything to advocate for a more equitable co-pay for the strips.
Has anyone else been able to do this?
Thanks for your help!
