I’ve had Type 1 Diabetes for 13 years now. I got diagnosed when I was 25 and got pretty sick. I don’t have it anywhere in my family and my kids can’t get it either. I grew up in the fitness industry and eating vegetarian. But I got diabetes. I work had at keeping my diabetes under control and I don’t hide it. It is a part of ME. People brush their teeth every day and I take shots all day. So, I’m proud to be a diabetic, working mom, raising two young kiddos in a happy marriage. I could not have made it without my husbands support - he pushed me to take control of it and do what we needed to do! It can be hard but when you are under control and feel good the rewards are great.
