This happens every time I've changed my cannulas.
I basically used to have the Inset30, they were the quick fire cannulas that go in at a 90 degree angle. I ended up changing because I couldn't get myself to push the button. And my Mum ended up doing it for me. I consulted my Nurse and she recommended that I tried the push in cannulas "Contact Detach" and I finally managed to sort myself out instead of relying on my Mum. For a month, they were working really well. But over the last month, I've had this message "Occlusion detected" then shortly after it comes up "Pump not primed, no delivery."
We left it as a one off. But every time I change my cannula is shows me this message! Then, 2 weeks ago, I changed my cannula, and I tested my blood glucose 2 hours after, I had a level of 29.8. I corrected it with my pump, 2 hours later, 29. 7. I also checked my ketones at this point, and it was 2.8. My Mum gave me a pen injection, changed all my cannulas over again, and it sorted itself out.
Last week, I changed my cannula, did my blood glucose, 18.7. Corrected, 2 hours later, 18.6. Another pen injection, that sorted my blood glucose out, not so much my ketones... My ketones went from 2.8 to 3.4 and then 3.9.
Last night, I did my blood glucose (again, after changing my cannula) and it was 28.9. I gave myself a pen injection straight away this time. Considering all the times above had happened at 3am. I didn't want to go through that again. My mum rang the hospital, and they told me to change everything over again, cannula, tubing & insulin. When I went onto prime and rewind, the prime box was unticked. I know for a fact that I primed my pump when I first changed my cannula. But my pump didn't alert me about it. Should I call Animas about this? (I have the Animas vibe, haven't had it long either).
Now to the question; if it comes up "Pump not primed, no delivery" does that mean that I will not get any insulin if I bolus?
I apologize if this is in the wrong area. I'm new to this forum...
