Hmm seems like you have alot of close people around you that rather than learn about it, they rather do like most of the population and ignore it. It seems that I also have taken their insecurities about it and used it against them, injecting myself in front of them and making and whincing about the pain to just put them over the edge or best is to leave the needle dangling from my arm as if nothing was wrong. That usually puts them over the edge… That always brings the question “how can you do that.” and the answer always is “It’s all about living and dieing, and I’m choosing to live.” They generally never question or give me looks when it comes to my diabetes again. However when there are people who ask and are generally interested in what I am doing, I engage them and inform them the best I can so then they can learn and be informed about diabetes and what it takes on a daily basis. And I love kids because they are so honest, earlier this summer at my cottage that we share with others there was 3 kids watching my do my thing, and they start asking questions but when I was giving my needle I let them push the plunger in. And of coarse the other kids were in line for the next injections along the day, but they were not afraid and they learned a little bit about diabetes. You will find your niche to deal with these people… until that time stay positive… and when you are down there is some one here to lean on…
