Brittany… something happened like that to me, yesterday at church. I was talking to a bunch of friends, and we were all laughing and having fun. This one guy has the worst sense of humor, and is always saying stupid clueless things. When I was first diagnosed, he said… “Why are you wearing that dogtag? So that when you die, people will know your name?” I was like… “how stupid is that?!?” So, anyways…
Yesterday, I was talking about how I wanted to go skydiving for my 18th birthday. I then added in that my mom is afraid of me dying while skydiving. i said something like… “But you know what?! How awesome would that be, to die skydiving? I mean, it’s my birthday… and i’m falling through the sky, knowing I’m gonna die.” I said it with A LOT of sarcasm. And, then… we laugh. And, I begin to walk away. Once I had walked away, this guy says “Well, you’ve got diabetes… and you’re going to die young anyways, so… why not?” I’m shocked he would say something so stupid. I mean, he’s 17! get a life! But, yeah. anyways, my dad’s going to talk to his dad… and hopefully he’ll get some sense knocked into him. I mean… he has no clue what he’s even talking about! Anyways, sorry to hear that this has happened to you before. It hurts, i know!
