A Veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank cheque payable to their country for an amount up to and including their life. I watched Convoy and Juno Beach on history channel and was amazed what people put up with. My grandfather was in WW1 and never talked about it. He was on the Hun side (not of his own free will).
