Screens on Pumps Not Easy to See

I have been pumping for over 10 years and have had pumps from three different manufacturers. Currently using Minimed.

I find myself daily strugging to read the screen on my pump - a combination of the color of the screen and the font size.

Does anyone else have these issues and know of any pumps that would be a better option for these visual needs?

the newest Animas pumps have full colour, backlight screens that are far easier to read than the old black on blueygreen that they used to be.

I’m visually impaired and find the pump screens difficult to read even with a magnifier and with the backlight on. The best one is by far the Animas pump. At least one company is starting to put some effort into screen readability, and some of the meter companies are now, too.

I cant read it without my glasses. I dare not!.. I keep a pair of reading glasses at my side.

I am a happy camper in that department using a MM pump for 10 years .I am wearing glasses since age 6 ; got progressive lenses at age 45 ; had cataract surgery several years ago ( not diabetes related ) and can see the radio towers on our mountains since the surgery …now in my 71 st year. Have you had your eyes checked lately ?
I was at an pump info night this past week and indeed the Animas Ping screen is brighter than MM .
Yet for me , no reason to change .

The Animas screen probably has the most contrast of any pump screen out there (since it is white text on a black background, with yellow used as a highlight color), but the Omnipod may also be easier to see than the monochromatic MM screens.

However, a lot of people complain that they can’t see the screen on the Ping meter/remote, which here in the US is the same monochromatic screen used on the MM pumps… Canada has a meter/remote with the same kind of color screen, and rumors are we will get it too “at some point” but it’s up to the FDA about when that will be. Very frustrating to have such lengthy delays when the only change to the device is the screen itself.
