Making it stick

While making an initial change in habits can be exciting, making it stick and become a permanent change is the real goal. I’m only about 10 days into my low-carb 30 grams carb/day target; I’m shooting to make it to three weeks. I’ve found that if I can do something for three weeks then the chances of it becoming permanent increase a lot.
Yesterday’s line wasn’t as pretty as the day before but it’s metrics were excellent:
98% Time in Range (65-140 mg/dl)
0% Time low (< 65 mg/dl)
18 Standard Deviation
93 mg/dl Average
I keep tweaking my basal rates to bring down the time spent low to < 5%. It seems to be working. It kind of goes against my grain to make changes based on one day’s line. It’s usually best to wait for a trend of at least three days to demonstrate a need for change. So, I’ll try to be patient.
