Many ways to screw up
Saturday, 2/14

So, two days ago I adjusted my basal rate at midnight to counteract the post midnight dip in the BG line shown below. Instead of decreasing the basal rate by 0.1 unit/hour, I mistakenly increased it by 0.1 unit/hour. Not an overly serious error and the consequences were small but it was an unforced mistake.
It just goes to show that there are many ways to screw up blood sugar control and a lesson in humility. Cognitive mistakes like this, with more serious consequences, is one of the things I fear as I age. I look forward to an artificial pancreas system that can play this game better than I!
