Hi, there!
This really is just a note to tell anyone who has ever been diagnosed with the sickle cell anemia trait to double check
wether or not you truely have diabetes. I ran into some issues with my blood sugar readings and was doing some searching on the web & found a connection between the two. Sometimes if you have this trait, your numbers, your(A1C)can run really high. meaning that you might not actually have diabetes at all. it could just be the way your numbers are for you. Your lab actually needs a specific test to check your blood when diagnosing diabetes when you have the sickle cell trait. There are at least six to eight false positives out of 26 test for diabetes. Please consider that i’m not a dr or anything, just a person trying to help someone out of being mis-diagnosed.
