Silencing a screaming pod - a trick

I usually use a paperclip since I use the AccuCheck lancets. They don't stick out and you can't even see the needle. Plus, you can use it 6 times before you change it without it getting dull.

After a while (I think about 5 minutes) it starts singing to you.

Ha. I don’t believe you ;)

This pic is confusing; this isn't the "bottom" of a Pod... Maybe I'm using incorrect terminology. I call the side covered by adhesive the "bottom" or "underside" and the part of the Pod that is visible once a Pod is on the "top" side. This pic does not show the alarm shut-off port (hole) on the "underside" or "bottom" of a Pod where you can insert the end of a paperclip to stop the shrieking (a.k.a. "hazard alarm".) If you hold the Pod with the underside or bottom facing up and the square (as opposed to pointed) end of the Pod at the top, the little hole is to the right of the fill port, a little past the half-way point. It is here that you can insert the end of a regular old paper clip. With a little bit of force you can break through the plastic to deactivate that obnoxious alarm.

Holy Cr... I thought that was just in my head! :)
