Is it one cup of sugar = to 1/2 cup Splenda? Or is it equal parts? One cup of sugar is equal to one cup of Splenda?
I am confused. Help!

It can be confusing. Splenda is the brand name for sucralose. Sucralose is 600 times sweeter than sugar. Virtually all the Splenda products have been filled (with forms of sugar***) to have the same sweetness per volume as regular sugar. Thus you replace 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of basic granulated splenda. The confusing thing is that there are also Splenda “Sugar Blends”, both regular and brown, that are twice as sweet. That means for the “Sugar Blends” you replace 1 cup of sugar with 1/2 cup splenda.

I now know understand whyn I my BG went up when I used the Splenda Brown Sugar in my oatmeal. It made it spike big time… and I only used a tablespoon. =(
I used Splenda to make some bannock this past weekend and it turned out great! Less sugar and still yummy.
Now I have to tackle using Becel.
