Statins and low platelet count

Currently I have a condition called thrombocytopenia (low platelet count). My numbers are not dangerously low but low enough to be referred to a hematologist. i believed it was statin induced. Rare condition. Anyone have any experience with this?

I’ve had low/normal numbers for over 20 years, and don’t think it was related to statins. It was a concern when I started chemo, and counts went super low, and was given treatment to raise them. That was over 5 years ago. I hang out around 140-150 as my normal and doctor is not concerned. During chemo went down to 70s.
