Sugar cravings - how can you beat them?

I did the Weight Watchers where you went to meetings, met with a counselor, counted stuff and used charts…but that was a long time ago. There is a Weight Watchers online where you can do most of the stuff online but go for weekly weigh-ins, a lot of the moms in my group are having a good experience with that.

I also had taken Byetta briefly and that did seem to work as far as cravings and all that…but it turned out I’m allergic to it :frowning: That’s another thing many ladies on my website are having a good experience with - that and Symalin I think…if I’m getting the name right.

When I was up at 280 some of the most successful things I tried were the South Beach Diet, the Mediterranean Diet and Walter Willet’s food pyramid. I also really liked Richard Simmon’s Food Mover…that was really good for an unorganized person like me and pretty much is the diabetes exchange diet with a cool gadget lol. It had little cards with different calorie plans, but of course as a diabetic it was too many carbs. The cards were plastic and were protected inside the food mover, so I x’ed out or added servings of stuff with a wipe-off marker to personalize it more.

As far as physical activity, I liked yoga and Jorge Cruise’s 8 minutes in the morning, walking. All those things helped me chip away at the 280. I also did good with a pedometer and trying to get 10,000 steps.

I also need motivation and I tend to watch people’s stories on YouTube and get inspired especially if I can relate to them. If you search on there for “weight loss before after” or testimonials you’ll find a lot of kewl stuff. I currently am watching this guy named Graham who lives in Australia and he’s 500 pounds! He got diagnosed with diabetes and started in January barely able to walk around a rose garden, and had to stop several times. Now he’s walking around the whole park and even doing short sprints. He is hilarious. If you check him out, beware, he often sports a mankini lol. His channel is: http://www.youtube.com/user/GrahamAndFriends
