Well, I'm new and I'm going to just jump in and ask my question since I don't see it. My doctor has switched my medication around so I will go from two shots a day to six - I will be taking Lantus, humalog and symlin. I'm particularly nervous about the symlin - I don't eat a lot in general. I usually eat around 1,500 or so calories a day. I'm worried because the warnings keep talking about severe hypoglycemia along with nausea and trouble bringing your blood sugar back up. I don't get particularly hungry
and I'm afraid the nausea will make that more pronounced so I'm forcing myself to eat just to feed the insulin.
Anyway, has anyone out there used symlin and what was their experience? My blood sugar runs high as a rule no matter what I eat which is why they gave it to me.
