Talk about a case of CYA

From local Triangle news comes this story about five children who accidentally stuck themselves with a classmate’s lancet. I think 18 months of testing is a little overkill and a lot of CYA, but at least the parents of the impacted youngsters seem to have the proper perspective. From the article:

One of the student's parents, who asked not to be identified, said the youths are considered to be at low-risk for serious diseases because the diabetic student has no known diseases.

When I read the headline of this story I was so afraid that I was going to see some comment from a parent like "I don't want my kid getting the diabetes because of this." Hopefully with a calm, rational reaction from their parents over the incident these children will have the opportunity to gain some valuable knowledge from the experience.

What’s CYA?
