I was wondering if anyone in the group is running the next Chicago Marathon. Registration should be opening up in January and I have decided to run. I thought it would be great to put the miles to extra use and start an awareness and/or fundraising team. I ran Chicago in '07 (aka The Hot One™) and San Diego in June '08. When I was ran in San Diego, there was group there called Team in Training. It was impossible to not see them and support for their team was amazing. Throughout that race I kept wishing there was an effort like that for diabetes.
Since the race is in October, organization would have to start pretty quickly as registration fills up fast. There’s also the Chicago Half-Marathon in September and typically times nicely with training programs. Anyone interested? I really have no specifics in mind on how the team should organize, but wanted to test the waters for interest and start some discussion.
