I got a steriod inject in an ankle which sailed my glucose to 5&600’s. The next time I had one I took the 70 units I used the 1st day, divided it by the 24hr. and ended up with a 2.9 units per hr. Set this on the temp. basal rate for the 24 hrs. and kept my glucose in the 200 ranges. What a wonderful thing the pump is.
Agreed. I’ve had to take steroids many times for asthma. Before I had a pump my BGs would just soar. Now my combination of a pump and a continuous glucose monitor makes it much easier to stay closer to normal. Thank God for this technology.
