It’s time to come clean: How gunked up is your pump case and how often do you clean it?
I’m a tidy gal, really, but there is an accumulation of–the kindest word would be lint–inside the clip of my insulin pump case.
With my first pump, I never cleaned the case and, since it did not break often, when the case finally did break, I needed to call EPA to put my pump on the superfund list. Way beyond gross, like a battery had leaked between the pump and the case.
With my current pump, which I have had for about 2 years, I clean it about weekly. I shower with it most of the time, and, if I don’t clean it, soap residue gets in the crevices and…let’s just say “Yuck!”
