Don’tknow if this will work for you or not, but it worked when mine were little (7 up). We didn’t have to worry about the hurricaines, but non play outside from 1-6 (too hot and too much UV here in Nevada)
We picked a country to learn about for the summer. One year it was Japan, one Australia, and Turkey to name a few. We trekked to the library to get books.We would read together…make maps.play games prepare food (simply-pretty inexpensive as we were extremely tight $$ wise) we would even get language tapes and try to learn the language.We looked for movies about the countries(sometimes the libraries let these too) kids really enjoyed it, it was rather painless learning (a little messy durring learning to use chop sticks)
