Today

today, n.: A nice place to visit, but you can’t stay here for long.

Live for today, plan for tomorrow and the future will take care of itself. I’ve started to really live with this plan. I used to worry about the future and how everything will work out. I ended up not really enjoying what was going on in my life, including my son, because I was too preoccupied with the future. T1DM has really changed this for me. I can still plan for the future, but the disease keeps me in the here and now. I still don’t stop to smell the roses, but I at least now notice they are there.
