Too good to be true, funny Omnipod fail story

So, I am reading last night on Tudiabetes,in the Omnipod Users group about all the omnipod fails everyone has, etc etc, how truly disillusioned people are with this and upset, and Im thinking to myself, gee my 13 year old daughter has been on it now 5 weeks and things are going great with no issues.

I tear myself away and say to myself to stop thinking about it and I have a dream about it failing , and and wake up and say to myself , knock it off and go to sleep, don jinx yourself.

So we are on our way to endo today in NYC and we just pull into the garage and hear this high pitch dog whistle type of ringing and say to my daughter whats that , she says I dont know but its hurting my ears.
We park car go into the building and it follows us in, and we still dont know what the hell it is.
(it gets even funnier) We get on the elevator and 2 ladies are on it and I say do you hear that awful ringing? and they say yes and I say what the heck is it?, and they shrugg their shoulders.
Now in the waiting room and my daughter says why is it following us, and I make a joke that its alliens trying to scramble our telecommunications systems (I dont think I was that far off! LOL)
Anyway she says let me take out my PDM and check , she then says mom its the omnipod alarm, it deactivated itself. Thank god we found out what it was. though not happy we had our first pod fail. ( I knew I jinxed myself)
Couldnt figure out why, we had just changed it out 2 hours previous, and the Insulet people dont know either, they just say they will send you a new pod. Anyway thought I would share that experience.
I still cant believe I asked 2 strangers on the elevator if they knew what it was!! LOL!!

Funny!

I totally relate. Several years ago I had a boss that wanted me to get a beeper so she could get in touch with me when I was in the field. I told her I hate all such devices that tether you (and still do…I don’t even own a cell phone!), but of course I would take it if she wanted me to. I threw it in my bag and forgot about it. Then I was in the car one day and heard this beeping sound. What is that sound? I still heard it outside and in the next place I went and it was only then that I made the connection that it was me…or rather my beeper.

Thanks, very funny. I’ve got every alarm I don’t absolutely want turned off on my Ping. Bad enough my cat wants to talk to me in the middle of the night at times.

Hilarious!
