If I want to message Linda de Laveaga Withrow, I type “Linda” into the search. Typing more than one word doesn’t narrow the search. You just have to scroll thru the list.
Comments are small and appear on the right hand side of the original post. Don’t try to post detailed images because they won’t be viewable. I would stick to text.
I lost my typical screen name too. It pulled my real name out of my google account.
We already have one member suspended on FU for writing something uncomplimentary about G7. I thought no one could get suspended over there. I thought that was where we sent our trouble makers.
I’m asking El_Ver if we need to be careful about our writing over at FU. He’s been over there for some years now. I worried he might have died in a low blood sugar driving accident because he’s the only professional diabetic driver I know. He was just over at FU.
Wait, so you can’t share frustrations or dislike of products there?
I think I need to look into all this a bit because I didn’t realize this place was shutting down. i saw an email or whatever, but only skimmed as I didn’t have time to read the whole thing
No, you can share whatever you want on FUD. Be as open as you want if a product sucks.
I think the issue that was flagged was because it was a first-time post and they put in a link to another site on their first post.
EDIT:
You can share links, but I think you need to have a few posts and some time before that is allowed. I don’t know the exact rules, but it is nothing over-the-top.
That user was suspended for continually plugging a web vendor’s products into his/her posts, something we discourage on FUD. We very much encourage comments about users’ experiences with products, vendors, etc.
It was their first post. We believe it was from posting a link in the first post made. Try not to do that when we all flood over there, I guess. They say make a few posts before including a link.
While we encourage participation from everyone, we ask that you DO NOT join this community if you are under the age of 13.
I don’t think you can have seen my FUD comments, but, summarised, the MightyNetworks restriction is on the “age of majority”. Technically it trumps the individual Mighty network; we shall see.
Bear in mind that it is heavily used and only slightly funded. There is a curious button bearing the legend “DONATE” and there are a lot of entities out there who wish they could rewrite history but can’t because someone recorded it. Sort of like “shooting the messenger” but it is far more effective to “shoot the librarian”.
