Tuna Burger

Very simple, looks delicious, probably healthier than a "regular" burger. Recipe by Charles Mattocks (aka "The Poor Chef")

10 oz ahi tuna, divided into 2 portions

1 tbsp olive oil

2 whole wheat hamburger buns, toasted

2 tbsp pesto

1 tomato, sliced

¼ red onion, thinly sliced

1/2 cups lettuce

Salt and pepper to taste

Coat the tuna with the olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

Grill on high heat for 2 minutes on each side, until the outside is lightly charred but the interior is still pink.

Coat the buns with the pesto, then add lettuce, tomato and onion. Serve and enjoy.

Sounds delicious. Yum, tuna with pesto. Not to be a downer, but tuna, unfortunately, has a lot of mercury. Not something you want to eat regularly. I love tuna.

True that, Debbie Downer ;) MAN, I'm hungry!!

You could do the same thing with a salmon steak. Salmon is yummy with home made pesto too.
