I’m new to this website, and this is my first post. I was diagnosed in March of 2008. I was on oral meds for the first 9 months. Now, because of another health issue and its related meds, my BS is sky-high. So my doctor has put me on long-acting and short-acting/slide scale insulin.
That’s okay; I’m managing. The problem I’m facing is that I get huge, red, itchy whelps at my injection sites. Once the whelps recede and the itching stops, they leave bruises. My doctor said that she’s never seen this before and changed the type of insulin. I’m still getting the whelps.
Has anyone else experienced this? Susannah
