Type 2 Photo Exhibit @ Chicago, June 25

Meet the Face of Change is a national traveling photo exhibit that will begin touring the country later this year. The purpose of the program, which is supported by Novo Nordisk, is to honor those who are successfully coping with type 2 diabetes everyday. Meet the Face of Change was created by Rick Smolan, a former National Geographic photographer and creator of the best-selling “Day in the Life” photography series.

Smolan will be previewing the exhibit at the 2007 American Diabetes Association meeting taking place in Chicago, IL. This preview will occur on June 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (CT) and feature the photos of six Chicago-area residents.

The “official” kick-off of the exhibition will take place on July 23. However, the Meet the Face of Change Website is already live. Readers can use the site to submit stories and photos highlighting the lives of people coping with diabetes (those with type 1 are welcome to participate, but the program’s focus is on people with type 2.

Rick will be available on Monday afternoon (June 25) and Tuesday (June 26) all day for a telephone interview. If anybody wants to interview him (I’d just ask that you also post the interview here besides anywhere else you want to post it), contact Fard Johnmar at photos at envisionsolutionsnow dot com. He can either send him questions to answer via e-mail.
