The scientist developed the technology behind the test strips we all use daily. That was 30 years ago. Like the US, UK patent law gave the rights to his employer, Unilever, but the UK law has a provision that if an employee’s invention brings a large benefit to the company, the company must share some of their profits with the employee-inventer. After 30 years in the UK courts he finally won.
