Using carb factor to calculate fruit carbs

When weighing fruit and multiplying by a carb factor, do you weigh the whole fruit or just the edible portion? For instance, would I weigh a cored apple or does the carb factor have the fact that you won’t eat the core factored in? I’ve ordered a book about carb factors but it hasn’t arrived - hoping someone here will know the answer.

Thanks.

Carb factor is typically for edible portion. The table you are using should say, but if it doesn’t I would assume it is for edible portion, after removing waste.

I use the USDA site instead of carb factors USDA LINK HERE when I want to figure out a new food. This is for edible portion also. If you do the look up for 100g portion, then the carb amount in grams is the same as a carb factor percentage.
