Volunteers needed for a study

COMPENSATION AWARDED FOR PARTICIPATION

The Human and Environmental Physiology Research Unit at the University of Ottawa is looking to recruit type 1 and type 2 diabetes participants older than 18 years who would be willing to volunteer in an exercise study that examines the effects of diabetes on the ability to dissipate heat. This will further our understanding of diabetes and would help to establish new guidelines and safety procedures in the prevention of heat-related illness and injury for diabetics in the workplace.

Compensation: For participating in the study you will receive a free aerobic fitness assessment (VO2 max) (or stress test if aged over 55 years) and a body composition test (hydrostatic weighing). You will also receive financial compensation for your time.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact me at: gpaul045@uottawa.ca.

I thank you kindly in advance for your time and help in any way in this important study.

Sincerely,

Gabrielle Paull, MSc (candidate)
