Wavesense Keynote Meter

Anyone use the Keynote meter(or any Wavesense meter)?

I have one on the way with 50 test strips to try it out. They ‘claim’ it is the most accurate meter on the market, and the price of the test strips are very reasonable.

If you use the meter, what do you think of it?

Hey Danielle
I’ve been useing wavesence Jazz, only for about a week and like it very much so far, these are supposedly the most accurate, and the jazz will soon be available with bluetooth capabilities

Thanks for the feedback, Michael. I really liked what I read about with the Jazz, but I couldn’t find where to get it. So I just ordered the Keynote. Do you know if it takes the same strips as the Keynote?

not sure if strips are compatable but here are the two links that I used. I ordered it thru diabetes direct ( check out link for free promo if you by strips)on a thursday and had it on monday. I had a qustion about software so e-mailed custserv. and they got back to me next morning! so far so good.

any of the wavesense meters are fabulous. the strips are not compatible. the link that michael gave has exclusive rights to the Jazz.

The WaveSense meters are great. I use the KeyNote meter and love it! It’s small, accurate, lets you view a variety of blood sugar averages, and the test strips are very affordable as you say which is a big plus.

I LOVE THE KEY NOTE, usually there at Kroger or at http://www.americandiabeteswholesale.com/Categories.bok
I really want to upgrade to the presto! I like the meter because it’s small and easy to carry around, and i don’t know if it’s just me but i think it takes less blood or maybe it’s better at taking the blood. I don’t use the alarms, but i like the option of them. Plus the best thing about it is that it’s the cheapest strips i’ve seen, especially on that online site.  i would love to be the spokes person for this product LOL.

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone!

Thanks for the links as well. The Jazz strips look more expensive then the Keynote and Presto…the Presto looks really good too. Lovin’ the colors they have for it, too!

I am looking forward to getting the meter.

Danielle

I’ve used the Keynote for at least 6 months and I’ve liked it a lot. I think the accuracy is better because my A1C dropped about 0.3% after I started with it.

I’m evaluating the Jazz at present. The strips are different. I also like the Jazz, the numbers are HUGE, I can read them without glasses!

i might be getting the presto soon too!! I love the jazzy colors.

JAzz !

I know, I am lovin’ the pink they have!

Bernard, Thanks much for your response. Did you do a You Tube video on the keynote a few years ago?

If so, I watched that video, it was great. I really liked how quickly the strip ‘sucked’ up the blood, reminds me of the Aviva(love the Aviva, too).

That is great about your A1C!

pink??? send me a pic or link! I would love a pink meter. Walmart has this new meter that’s pretty small and you can change the faceplates! Cheapest strips i’ve seen is reli on and keynote.

Let me know if this link doesn’t go directly too it(you should see the pink Presto meter):

The presto comes in Pink, white(worry about getting blood on it though), lime green, blue, red, purple, and black!

is there keynote solution for each meter, or is there only one kind(i’ve only seen one kind). I want my meter now! I think it’s blue :frowning: i didn’t have an option :frowning: I answered my question: I called the company, there’s only one control solution. Tech guy was really nice! I hope they can get to more stores
here’s the site http://www.wavesense.info

My meter just came today, and it did come with a control solution. So yours will probably come with it.

So far, I really like the Keynote! It is reading me slightly higher then my Ultralink meter…not much though. Onetouch 82…Keynote 85…one touch 85…keynote 90 etc. I am happy with that, as it seems each meter is slightly different anyways!

I LOVE the test strips! Easy to grab(the one touch strips always stick together), and they suck the blood right up. The strips remind me of the Freestyle strips, which I loved.

It is kind of like having a freestyle without the expense!

The carrying case is super small too. I love the size, except I can’t really put syringes in it (I carry syringes in my other case incase of a pump failure). I don’t like the lancing device that came with the keynote(hurts more then others). Thankfully, my multiclix fits in the case…I love that thing!

Anyway, I hope I continue to get good readings from it. So far two thumbs up, I like it!

I thought I’d mention there’s a Wavesense users group here in TuDiabetes:

Try and compare 2 or 3 readings of your new meter wih a lab test. That is the only way to know it’s accuracy.

I’ll have to bring them both in when I go in May!

Yesterday, I had quite a bit of difference at my two hour mark after eating. My OneTouch UltraLink said 138-140mg/dl(three readings).

The Keynote said 161-177mg/dl(two readings).

I compared it with a free freestyle lite meter I have, and the free strips that came with it…and it was closer to the Keynote(155mg/dl).

I know it is rather pointless to compare meters without a lab test…but I hate how different all the meters can read…

Still lovin’ the Keynote though. If my insurance will cover the strips, I will probably switch over.
