My mother used to say things like that to me when I was growing up. After she found out about my diagnosis she actually said she was glad it was me that got type 1 because of all her children she thinks I can handle it better!!! I was kind of insulted and I have to say if I am handling it better, than my brother and sister would have been dead years ago. Then my oldest daughter was diagnosed at age 6. Over the last few years I have had one complication after the other and believe it or not, I HAVE REACHED THE POINT WHERE I HAVE MORE THAN I CAN HANDLE!!! Thank you for bringing this up because I was wondering if I was the only one who disagreed with this statement.
