To my other fellow-laser-retinopathy-repair friends…
Can we list some strange effects that seem to happen after the procedures?
I am experiencing what looks like little spinning fireworks. This happened after my first procedure last year and gradually faded… it is happening again after the last ones (3 back-to-back)
Also, obviously pain after the first procedure for proliferative retinopathy (last week) I am on steroid drops and ibuprofen to help that.
I didn’t experience ‘strange effects’. It was painful in an irritating way.
I’ve had dozens of treatments and have thus lost some color vision, some depth perception, and some peripheral vision. This is simply due to the amount of scar tissue I now have from the treatments. I also had a vitrectomy, which helped to remove SOME scar tissue from my left eye, so that eye is better than my right.
Aside from the uncomfortable burning feeling during the laser treatment and afterwards slight blurriness and pain and a black eye for a while, I also had nightmares for about a month. It would start with a tiny way far-off red dot in a wall of blackness. Within a fraction of a second, that little red dot would travel at high-speed and become a huge yellow explosion in my eyes. I literally jumped from a sleeping position onto my hands and knees at top speed. I think that was all…
The laser did not really bother me much & no black eyes but I may soon be having the vitrectomy in my eye. That’s a little scary. Glad I have 1 good eye!!
