What's for lunch?

I watched movies with my girlfriend all afternoon today. As I was getting ready to leave, she said, “Hey, you didn’t test your blood sugar while you were here.”

She was right. I didn’t. While we normally have some sort of chips and dip or tortilla chips and salsa, today I brought beef snacks and blueberries for munchies (which I basically considered to be lunch). I tested the beef snacks yesterday, and I had a small amount of blueberries in cream for breakfast today, and when I tested I got a much better blood sugar result than when I eat oatmeal.

This afternoon I had a celery stalk with peanut butter, and I will test before supper. Supper (Ranch Chicken tonight) hasn’t been tested yet, so I will test at the 1 hour and 2 hour mark. And I am going to skip the pasta side and have a small sweet potato instead. See what that does.

@Joe - no kidding. No more white bread. Funny story… I served my 6 y.o. daughter a sandwich on wheat bread yesterday and she hated it on sight (and untasted). I told her to get used to it, because there would be no more white bread coming into the house. Later I heard her give a huge sigh and say to my husband, “I have so many problems. Malachi (a boy she likes) something something something, AND I have to get used to new bread. Man, this week is terrible.”

We laughed until our sides hurt.

I have been consumed with testing for 7 days now. It was nice to have an afternoon to not worry about it, because I knew I was consuming foods that didn’t make me spike. Yay!

So I felt so long as I snacked in moderation, I didn’t have to test.
