When Diabetes Isn't the Only Issue

Diabetes has been a part of my life since I can remember. I’ve never known life without a chronic illness. That’s simply the way things were.

For a long time, I didn’t have other health issues. Diabetes was front and center. And it was easy, easy enough anyway. I knew what it was and I knew how to treat it.

But in the last two years, I’ve developed more symptoms than can fit on one page. At (I was then) 17 years old, life shouldn’t be filled with pain, fatigue and unbearable mood swings.

There was joint pain. There were migraines. There were irregular and horribly painful periods. There was weight gain, acne, hair growth, hair thinning. You name it, I probably had it.

Over that time, I visited more than a dozen specialists trying to figure out the problem. But every test came back “normal” and I was too young or too small to have a number of diseases.

In the past few months, I’ve heard more stories like my own (as I started a new treatment program) and realized that I needed to spread the word.

So I created a blog http://thehealthconundrum.blogspot.com and recently created an online support group http://groups.google.com/group/embracingtheunknown that I want to share with everyone.

I also ask that you:

  2. KEEP CHECKING BACK (traffic to my site is the only way I can make this work!)

  3. JOIN THE GROUP (the faster this grows, the better I can tell people)
