Which insurance covered your CGM

I think I’m covered at 100% - that’s what Minimed told me, but Regence hasn’t sent me a bill yet, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

I’ve got United Healthcare and I’m due to get my first pump and CGM (Minimed) in a few weeks! I’ve heard they’re good about it, but I fought with them for months about an Omnipod and could never get it covered in-network so I’m still crossing my fingers.

NYS Empire Plan; covers everything 100%. I have to say that I have been incredibly lucky since day one with insurance. I never realized how many people had trouble with their insurance plans and this really bothers me to hear. I will most definitely sign that petition, what if my luck runs out one day?

BCBS of Georgia, I had to get a letter/diagnosis from my Endo saying I had unawares.

Gina of all things BCBS of TX it is my wife’s insurance the State of TX approved and payed for the transmitor and sensor in Nov of last year approved the sensors and payed in January of this year, approved them in April and denied payment to MM in April approved and payed in June and have denied them in August I am now in the appeal process but until then it will be out of pocket. Good Luck

thanks!

BCBS/Highmark was supposed to cover the sensors beginning OCT/1 and they have not approved the coverage yet.
So I will be appealing and using everyone else’s reference of their coverage on my appeal.

Thanks alot…Staci (and still paying)

“Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield” covers mine 100%. No problems at all. It’s a great insurance company to have.

Aetna. i had my doctor request coverage, my diabetic educator, and i wrote a letter requesting coverage. i did this before they had a chance to deny the request. i talked with everyone sending a request that i needed to have all the letters state, besides other reasons, was BG “swings” and unaware lows. i wanted everyones request to be consistent but not the same. also, you doctor is your best advocate for coverage. he/she should know what needs to be said and how to say it to get your coverage.

if the insurance company denies keep asking and pestering. appeal, appeal, appeal…

Anthem BCBS as well as 10 sensors a month 100% covered they have been very good to me with everything. No hassles and even nice on the phone. However our policy is not cheap though. But I am not a cheap one to cover so I guess we are even

Can someone please kick BCBS of Florida in the BUTT to get them to start covering CGM…If BCBS covers in other states, why not FL? I know we are backwards in other laws too but HEALTHCARE! Come on!

Thanks for letting me vent! :o)

ODS in Portland, OR covered at 80%. Just got mine last week, so I haven’t needed to reorder supplies yet. They asked me to participate in a health coaching program so they can follow my progress.

CDPHP covered mine I had to write a letter then it was approved I did have a deductible to meet and copays which is fine but they never informed me up front about it. I have mini med medtronic meter I do no like their customer service though and funny neither does my doctors office,

Blue Cross of Eastern PA will only cover cgm supplies under two conditons: You have diabetes and are pregnant, or if you have a history of severe hypoglycemia unawareness. If you do not fall under these two categories they will not cover it. I’ve tried several appeals and they will not cover them.

United Health Care PPO, 100% coverage after my deductable’s satisfied.

Aetna Select Open Access in Tennessee. Medtronic Minimed Paradigm 722 and CGMS covered at 100%. Sensors will be covered at 100%.

BCBS Highmark Pittsburgh

Currently I have Cinga and they paid 80 % of my pump the minimed 722 and 80 % of the cgms but my sensors are 100 % paid by the insurance co. When I found that out I almost fell out of my chair !
