Who has had the H1N1 vaccination.....how about your famiy members?

Got vaccinated over a month ago. Just now recovering from the H1N1 flu (started felling ill on the 1st).

And it was a miserable flu…

Imagine Samantha how much worse it could have been without the vaccination. Believe me, 11 days is nothing, some people have been ill with it for over a month…they are the ones who didn’t get vaccinated. Hopefully you’ll be back to normal soon!

Should check out the sites for your local department of public health. Out here, in Iowa, they are still giving them… but the locations vary, according to their calendars. I just got mine today, for free, and they also offer the regular flu shot for an additional cost. (Which I didn’t get, cus I am poor as dirt. lol) And I live in a small town… they’re just rotating locations, so their website for the Dpt of Public Health would say their calendar for such clinics.

I got the shot last month along with the annual flu shot - big mistake, should just have gotten the flu shot … now I can’t have any type of fish (went from being sensitive to it to out right ER status allergic within 6 hours of the shot - grrrr).

Mom can’t have the shot because of her allergy something in the shot, i should not have had the shot because it has a drug I am known to be allergic to but no one new of it at the time! my dad had no reaction to it, and my hubby can’t have it because it interacts with the epileptic med he is on.

Wow! Really the H1N1 shot did that to you Nyxks? Do you have both the H1N1 and reg flu shot at the same time - maybe that was the prob? I know here in Quebec, we couldn’t get our regular flu shot until now (started Jan 12 - for 3 weeks - I’m going next week). I did get my H1N1 vaccine mid-Nov - and had no effects (no curly tail … yet … but a bit of chin bristly hair ).

I’m thinking it was probably getting both at the same time. There are no living organisms in the H1N1 shot, so it couldn’t have been that one, I suspect. We couldn’t get either together, and had to wait at least 10 days to get one or the other between them.

I’ve never before had problems getting the shot as I am considered a high risk because of not only diabetes, but other health problems. When I was in the rehab center this last year they said they were going to give both of the flu shots early and they never did. I just went ahead on my own with the regular flu shot and got it at the mall. Finally, my DR’s office tracked me down and told me to come in for the H1N1. I live in a large city and there should have been plenty around but I have no way of knowing what others in the city were going through to get it. I guess I was out of the stream of things in rehab!!

Anyway, good luck in getting it covered.

Are the Vacinations safe - When and how will we know?

It took a while for them to get to California. When they got here, you had to be like under 5 years old or pregnant. Diabetics weren’t on the list. I went to the doctor on Jan 10, and he asked if I wanted one. I said I didn’t care, but if he thought it would be a good idea, then “what the heck?” So, I got one for free at my doctor’s office.

We got ours last Fall which doesn’t help with the BAD 3 day virus that is supposedly in North America. I think it starts with Nor…
