Just wanted to let the diabetic community know about the Bakken Foundation, which is basically a scholarship put in place by Earl Bakken (Medtronic's founder) that will give $20,000 to a charity and a trip to Hawaii to 10 lucky recipients.
The criteria are simply that you wear either an insulin pump or CGMS (brand doesn't matter, it doesn't have to be Medtronic!!) and that you are actively involved with a legitimate non-profit charitable foundation. I'd love to apply for this myself, but as a Medtronic employee I'm ineligible...so I hope some of you feel encouraged to apply or nominate someone!!
