I am a type 1 diabetic who was diagnosed at age 27 in 1997. Ironically, my sister who is 5 years older than I am was also diagnosed in 1997 as a type 1 diabetic.
I am married with three children, 2 of which are twins. I am a freelance cantor with my own Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutoring business. As most know, having diabetes is a daily challenge.
