I am 21 years old and I am a type 1 diabetic of four and a half years. I was diagnosed a month before my 17th birthday, just a few short days after returning from traveling with my family in New Zealand & Australia. After using MDI's for the first year, I eagerly switched to the Animas OneTouch Ping insulin pump, and I've never looked back. I also use the Dexcom G4 as a means of monitoring my blood sugars more closely. I love trying out new diabetes-related technology and accessories, and have built up quite a collection over the years.

Outside of T1D, I have a keen interest in all things arts related. I can often be found performing at various open mic's, attending theatrical performances, and hanging out in my mum's art studio. I'm an aspiring singer-songwriter and I've been playing a variety of instruments since I was six.

I'm also a massive holistic & natural health fanatic, and I love to find cool herbal remedies for everyday ailments. Along with hitting up the gym, alternative healing practices are my jam. Find me in the yoga studio, or in the kitchen making the latest and greatest yummy low-carb, plant based recipe. As an animal lover, zero-waste enthusiast, and total biophiliac (that's a new word for you to look up kids!), I'm just your all around, self proclaimed, flower child.
