Retired Urban Planner, with a part-time planning consulting firm and a member of my town’s Planning Commission. I have two daughters, four granddaughters, and have been diabetic since I became pregnant with my youngest daughter 34 years ago. I have always kept my blood sugars under control and to this day have no complications, a fact of which I am very proud, but I was lucky because I became diabetic when I was older and had a reason (pregnancy) to maintain tight control from the beginning.
