Been a type1 since August 13 1978 (when I was 13) lived good and happy (was on the swim team in high school) then went through the why me stages. But took stuck with the diabetes pattern (shots, tests, diet, md visits) Then finally grew up. When I got married (in 94), My wife got me into taking care of myself, and I wanted to learn more about this Diabetes that I had. So I studied and learned. and learned some more. My Endo things I am wise. Now even though I talk too much, I care and want to help others learn also. I started pumping (minimed) in 2000 and am still going. I check my BS 7+ times a day. I only got one complication, but it isn't that bad. I have Gastroparesis. I learned to watch what I eat, and when I ain't doing so good, eat soft, multi times a day, and relax. I am still going strong, and will never ever give up.
