Hi! I am turning 70 this year, 2022. Diabetes since 1968, so that’s 54 years! Surprises me every day to be alive still, given what doctors told me back when I was diagnosed… I live with my husband on a mountainside in northern Idaho, near Canada where we grow much of our food, heat with wood (husband is an Arborist) and enjoy our two basset hounds.

I use an insulin pump and Dexcom CGM with which I manage to keep my A1C in the mid 5 range. But most of my life my control was poor, so I do deal with some complications. Diabetes is a truly tough card to draw, but given that it is in my hand, I feel pretty darn lucky!
