I have had type 1 diabetes since the age of 3 (40+ years) and was diagnosed in 76. When I was diagnosed there were no disposable needles or glucometers. My first needle kit was a glass syringe and washable stainless steel screw on needle. My mother bought at a very high price one of the first glucometers at a hospital where ahe worked.. I remember getting the glucometer and the doctor saying there will only need to be a few of these worldwide!! I have had thia disease from such a young age that the only life experience I had without diabetes was learning to walk. Through childhood adolecence adulthood and now middle age I have some stories that could raise your hair. I have spent decades injecting through all the above and currently use CGM with an insulin pump. My first pump I jad was the minimed 508c in 1998, I am currently using medtronics 640g. -to be finished
